So your skills kept him alive, but your hope and warmth, intuition and friendship were what allowed him to live with the diagnosis and its treatment, to have hope, to feel comforted, to feel that he was always in the best of hands and that they were your hands.

We are very thankful for the short time we had her and know that all of you helped to lengthen her life well beyond what was expected.

I began contributing to the Cancer Center when a second grade student of mine wrote an essay on what she would do if she won the award for the best way to help someone. She wrote that she would donate the award money to the Cancer Center because her uncle had been diagnosed with cancer. She won the contest, and I matched the amount she donated.
